FUNDING FOR THE RUINS PROJECT

RUINS – SUSTAINABLE REUSE, PRESERVATION AND MODERN MANAGEMENT OF HISTORICAL RUINS

The Interreg Central Europe Territorial Cooperation Programme approved and funded the “RUINS – SUSTAINABLE REUSE, PRESERVATION AND MODERN MANAGEMENT OF HISTORICAL RUINS” project.

Venetian Heritage Cluster is Project Partner of the project along with Politechnicka Lubelska (LeadPartner), Univerzita Mateja Bela v Banskej Bystrici, Ustav Teoretické a aplikované mechaniky AV ČR, ICOMOS – POLSKA: Polsky Komited Narodowy Miedzynarodowej Rady Ochrony Zabytkow, Grad Zadar, SiTI – Istituto Superiore sui Sistemi Territoriali per l’Innovazione, Consiglio dei Comuni e Delle Regioni D’Europa Federazione Regionale Del Veneto, Mestna občina Velenje, Agencija za razvoj Zadarske županije ZADRA NOVA. With this project we achieve practical examples in the territory of the Veneto region. The funding will allow to start collaborations between the businesses of the Regional Network for Innovation (Rete Innovativa Regionale) for the research and development of new solutions.

The project aims to create a new integrated model considering management aspects, reuse and preservation of medieval ruins. The goal is to develop and provide management plans shared at a European level, going beyond usual traditional approaches. These guidelines will allow the management of ruined historic sites and the opportunity to take advantage of the economic potential this heritage offers for regional development.

The cooperation of 6 countries with their own traditions and experiences represents for us an example of public-private partnership. This will lead to the development of models suitable for management, the use and protection of medieval ruins throughout Europe, adding value to the Network on an international level.
