POWER-UP, Skills for Culture and Creativity

POWER-UP, Skills for Culture and Creativity

The POWER UP project, developed by Venetian Cluster and funded by PNRR funds through the NextGenerationEU, aims to provide cultural and creative enterprises with training, information and skills to integrate innovative technologies and increase their digital, economic and green sustainability.

POWER-UP – Competences for Culture and Creativity offers professionals from the fields of cultural and creative enterprises, technological innovation, digitalisation and sustainability a space where they can meet and brainstorm new ideas.

With the facilitation of Venetian Cluster experts, project ideas will be selected from the POWER-UP community to apply for public funding in October 2024.

Digitisation and predictivity
It may be of interest to

Digitisation and predictive analysis, imagining possible futures and risk management are skills that are increasingly becoming part of companies’ routines and should also help cultural and creative businesses in the sustainable management of their activities, expanding audiences and improving efficiency. Digital platforms and collaboration tools facilitate the global dissemination of content and cooperation between creatives. Predictive analytics enable data-driven strategic decisions, improving customer experience and predicting trends. However, challenges such as copyright protection and technology adoption require attention. We discussed this with Dr. Fulvio Conti, Dr. Antonio Furlanetto, and Dr. Stefano Fait.

Artificial Intelligence (AI)
It may be of interest to

Artificial intelligence (AI) is a technology that has pervasively entered our everyday lives, sometimes without us even realising it. Cultural and creative enterprises can also benefit from this innovation by improving the production, distribution, and enjoyment of content. AI algorithms analyse large amounts of data to predict trends and personalise user experiences, such as film or music recommendations. AI tools support artists in creating innovative works and automate repetitive tasks, freeing up time for creativity. The adoption of AI offers new opportunities, but requires investment in digital skills and a strong focus on rights protection. We discussed this topic with two experts: Nicola Grandis spoke to us about artificial intelligence and Guglielmo Cevolin about copyright and copyright protection.

Industry 5.0 and conservation
It may be of interest to

Industry 5.0, 3D printing, 3D modelling and laser-scanner surveying together with increasingly sustainable techniques and products for the conservation, restoration and enhancement of cultural heritage and the creation of new artistic and cultural products. These are the technologies we present within the 3 episodes realised for POWER-UP. In particular, we spoke with architect Andrea Boscolo about Industry 5.0 and 3D printing, with Dr Erminio Canevese about 3D modelling and laser-scanner survey, and with Dr Leonardo Borgioli about innovation and technologies for restoration. Listening to their 3 speeches, we noticed many points in common and how these three fields easily intersect to lead to increasingly precise and accurate levels of conservation and restoration and enhancement of works of art with obvious applications from ancient to contemporary art.
