BIOTECH2AGRI

  • Project title: BioTech2Agri
  • Start date: 15/04/2024
  • End date: 14/04/2026
  • Duration: 24 months
  • Total project budget: EUR 886.560,89
  • Program: INTERREG Italy-Slovenia

OBJECTIVE.

Contributing to the strengthening of European competitiveness by bringing the agribusiness sector to a potential higher level of innovation is undoubtedly the main goal of the BioTech2Agri project. It does so by seeking to convey added value to Slovenian and Italian agricultural supply chains through the transfer of existing biotech technology potential, placing development agencies, innovation hubs, clusters and SMEs at the center of activities.

THE PROJECT.

Based on the analysis and definition of the business model, conditions will be created for the transfer of innovative biotechnology between the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, Veneto and the statistical region of Northern Primorska (Goriška). This approach will enable the growth and strengthening of the economy in the project area and facilitate replicability in other areas.
The project will introduce new biotechnology into the economy through a public call for proposals that will offer small and medium-sized agribusinesses the opportunity to access an “innovation token mechanism.” This mechanism consists of the provision of innovation “tokens” or “vouchers” that selected companies will be able to use to take advantage of a range of innovation support services free of charge.
