BLUE RECHARGE

The project

The project aims to reverse the current trend of exploiting groundwater resources by increasing the recharge rate of aquifers to make their use more sustainable.
The project strategy focuses on cooperation between public authorities, research centers and private companies, and the creation of an incentive system (blue credits), which will ensure the economic sustainability of the project in the long term.
An awareness campaign will be carried out to demonstrate the feasibility and sustainable nature of the technical solutions, which will be applied in different soil types in Italy and Croatia.

Main Goals

  • Objective 1: Engage officials, public water companies, NGOs and the public to highlight best practices and promote the blue credits system.
  • Objective 2: Show local examples of water management in Croatia and Italy to relevant stakeholders.
