  • Full title: Fostering Resilience and Innovation in Europe through Networking: Development of Clusters in the Cultural and Creative Industry Ecosystem
  • Start Date: 01/09/2022
  • End Date: 31/08/2025
  • Duration: 3 years
  • Total Project Budget: €1,442,542.36

 THE PROJECT

The general objective of the FRIEND CCI project is to contribute to enhancing the resilience of the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI) ecosystem in Europe and to accelerate its green and digital transformation through the creation and development of a Eurocluster network aimed at supporting SMEs and other ecosystem actors.

The project activities include three calls: the first call will seek service providers for innovation, digitalization, and internationalization, while the second and third calls will target operators in the cultural and creative sectors who, in collaboration with companies from other sectors, can access funding.

The FRIEND CCI project will involve small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across Europe, providing them with financial support for their development and promoting the exchange of innovation between companies and sectors to enhance resilience and drive the twin transition.

THE IMPORTANCE OF A EUROCLUSTER

Clusters at the regional, national, and international levels can support SMEs and other actors in the CCI ecosystem in addressing various challenges, providing a framework to facilitate cross-sectoral collaboration both within and outside their ecosystem, overcoming fragmentation, and becoming more competitive. Clusters can particularly support SMEs through specialized business support services, as well as in reskilling and upskilling, enhancing their excellence and innovation capacity. A European-level CCI Eurocluster could contribute to building a strong and resilient CCI sector in Europe by bringing together clusters and companies from different European countries, with diverse experiences and representing various European excellences.

 THE PARTNERS

The project involves 5 European partners: Venetian Cluster (IT), France Clusters (FR), Cluster IDIA (ES), ITALCAM (DE), Open Hub Creative Cluster (RO), along with 11 associated partners who support and provide visibility to the project, including the Veneto Region, European universities, and Chambers of Commerce.
