We were the national technical coordinators of the national strategic project MAE Regioni Cina in collaboration with the MiSE and MiBACT (now MiC) to initiate, from 2009 to 2013, collaboration with major Chinese public centres and companies in order to promote Italian skills, materials and technologies in the field of dignostication, restoration and valorisation of Cultural Heritage in China
Objective: Co-ordinate, train and present the Italian public and private partnership (companies, professionals, research centres) in collaboration with Italian regions and ministries, to collaborate and initiate commercial actions in China in the area of Cultural Heritage.
Solution:
- Carrying out Scouting Actions in China to understand their needs and creating a public-private operational network involving SACH – Chinese Ministry of Culture, CACH – National Academy of Sciences for Chinese Restoration – Capital Museum – Shanghai Museum – Chengdu Museum – Changsha Museum – Xi’An Museum – Chongqing Museum – Nanjing Museum – Hunan Province, UNESCO sites corresponding to the Affected Provinces, such as Dazu and Qufu, and dozens of Chinese companies in the sector.
- Contacting and co-ordinating Italian experts, production and implementation companies
- Training for technicians and Italian companies involved in understanding the Chinese market and structuring synergetic and complementary system partnerships.
- Organisation and incoming for Chinese partners to Italy to showcase Italian companies and national expertise.
Results:
A total of 34 missions to China and 16 incoming missions were carried out. Sixty-five Italian technicians and more than 200 Chinese national operators (companies, museum directors, provincial presidents, directors of UNESCO sites, middle and high-level representatives and officials) participated. Italian companies from the monitoring, conservation, restoration and enhancement sector for cultural heritage (e.g. nanotech, biotech, museum technology, Lasertech, restoration, etc.) numbered 45.
The estimated commercial share of direct sales, supply and consultancy to Chinese partners amounts to over EUR 5 million in addition to unique worldwide technical agreements such as the two-year agreement with the Academy of Dazu Rock Carving (UNESCO and national fifth-level site).

Venetian Cluster, through the ‘Towards green transition facility (TGTF)’ initiative, successfully advised and supported several member companies on the topic of ecological transition.
Clients: The initiative involved companies of different sizes and sectors, with particular focus on: Environmental sector, Scientific sector, Transport sector.
Objective:The aim of the project was to accompany companies in adopting sustainable business models that comply with decarbonisation targets.
